Academy of Art

Freshman utility Andrea Hanchey stepped into the catcher position this past week and had four impressive performances for Academy of Art University. Hanchey finished the four-game week 8-for-14 with five runs scored, two runs batted in, and one walk.  She started off going 5-for-6 in a pair of contests on Saturday, Mar. 6 and scored the winning run in a dramatic 6-5 victory over Oregon Institute of Technology in the bottom of the seventh inning. Hanchey also helped start off a two-run rally by AAU in the fifth against Patten University on Mar. 7 leading to the 5-3 win. She is now one of three Urban Knights to have a .333 batting average for the season.

Junior Jazmine White had a strong showing at the Kim Duyst Invitational this weekend, she finished the day 6th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.85. She then placed 7th in the 200 meters with a time of 26.03. This is her first season as an Urban Knight and in her inaugural meet last week at the Cal State Stanislaus Open White garnered her first top 10 finish in the 200 meters, placing 6th with a time of 26.70.
